The look, live in the viewfinder
Your preset renders on the camera feed in real time, so you frame and expose for the finished photo instead of imagining it. What you see is what gets saved.
Any Lightroom preset, any LUT
Import .xmp presets and .cube LUTs from Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or OneDrive, or open one from another app. Tone curves, HSL, colour grading, split toning and masks all come across, and any look exports back out as .xmp or .cube.
Film grain and halation
Four film-stock grain structures on a Fine/Medium/Coarse scale, with crystal size and clumping you can dial in — plus red or orange halation that blooms only past the brightness threshold you set.
Background blur, with four bokeh styles
Aperture softens the background behind your subject — from depth where the iPhone or iPad can measure it, from subject detection where it cannot, front camera included. Set the amount and pick Creamy, Bubble, Cat eye or Swirly; the blur is added when the 12 MP photo is saved, not shown in the viewfinder.
Multiple exposure in camera
Stack two to nine frames into one photograph, blended by Average or Lighten, and watch the composite build up in the viewfinder as you shoot. A frame that misses can be taken back before you finish.
Manual shutter and ISO
Auto by default. Tap for shutter priority from 1 s down to 1/8000, or lock ISO instead. Long exposures stack 1–20 s of frames in linear light.
Shoot RAW and 48 MP ProRAW with your preset
Keep the untouched sensor data alongside the photo with your preset applied. Save the processed file at 8, 10 or 12-bit as JPEG, HEIF or 16-bit PNG — processing is float-native from end to end, so the depth is genuine.
Your original is never lost
Every processed shot can save an untouched copy of the sensor frame beside it. Turn the look off entirely and you get a plain photo — nothing is baked in without asking.
Front and back, framed properly
Instant camera switching with a live grid, level and face detection. The buttons fade out of the way on their own so nothing sits between you and the frame.
Selfies, mirrored or true
Front-camera photos save the way others see you by default, as the iOS Camera does — RAW included. Switch Mirror Selfies on and they save mirrored instead.
Black and white that means it
A standalone monochrome toggle, plus full GrayMixer support so B&W presets convert through their own channel weights instead of a flat desaturate.

Yes. xMosaique applies 3D .cube LUTs to the live camera feed, so the grade is on the frame before you press the shutter. Import them the way you import presets, set how strongly each one applies, and add grain or halation on top.

Yes. xMosaique is a free download. There are no ads, no account to create and no sign-up — open it and shoot.
Right here. All 23 presets on the presets page are real .xmp files — free to download one at a time or as a ZIP, with no account, no email address and no watermark. They open in Lightroom, Lightroom Classic and Camera Raw, and in xMosaique on the phone. The 18 free .cube LUTs have a page of their own.
Right here. All 18 LUTs on the LUTs page are standard 3D .cube files — free to download one at a time or as a ZIP, with no account, no email address and no watermark. They open in most photo and video editors, and xMosaique applies them to the live iPhone or iPad camera feed.
Any Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom .xmp preset, and any 3D LUT in the .cube format. 41 looks ship with the app, and the engine reads tone curves, HSL, colour grading, split toning, detail and effects settings, plus linear, radial, luminance-range and colour-range masks.
Three ways: the iOS Files picker (which includes iCloud Drive), or an in-app sign-in to Google Drive or OneDrive that finds your .xmp and .cube files and imports several at once. Neither cloud app needs to be installed, and a file opened from another app imports too.
Yes. xMosaique reads .xmp files itself and asks for no Adobe account, sign-in or subscription. The 41 bundled looks work out of the box, and any .xmp preset you already own — bought, downloaded or exported by someone else — imports the same way.
Some of them. Linear gradients, radial gradients and luminance- and colour-range masks are read and applied live, along with the adjustments inside them. AI masks, people masks and brush strokes are not: those are selections made against one finished photograph, not against a live camera feed.
Yes, at full precision. The viewfinder runs the preset as a 3D LUT on the GPU for speed; the capture re-runs the same processing in floating point over the uncompressed sensor frame. Halation and grain use identical maths in both paths, so the shot matches what you framed.
Yes. With a look active, RAW mode saves exactly two files: the 48 MP ProRAW DNG — untouched sensor data — and the photo with the preset applied. Turn the look off and you just get the DNG.
Does xMosaique change the RAW file or the original photo?
No. The ProRAW DNG is never written to. Outside RAW, an unprocessed copy is saved only if you ask for one: Keep Unprocessed Original is off in a fresh install, and switching it on in Settings > Saving keeps a clean copy of the frame beside every processed shot.
xMosaique runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 18.0 or later. An Android version is in development — sign-up details will land here once it is ready. There is no web version.
No. Your photos are never uploaded. Capture and processing happen entirely on your device, photos go straight to your library, and the app contains no analytics, tracking or advertising code. If you sign in to Google Drive or OneDrive, that token is stored in the iOS Keychain on your phone, used to read the presets and LUTs you import, and to write only when you save a preset back to that account.
