Three things worth knowing properly.

Short, specific and written from the app rather than around it. Each answers its question in the first paragraph and then explains why.

  1. Importing XMP presets and LUTs on iPhone and iPad

    xMosaique has three routes, all from its Presets screen: the iOS Files picker, which covers iCloud Drive and anything else Files can see; an in-app Google Drive sign-in; and an in-app OneDrive sign-in. Each takes .xmp presets and .cube LUTs alike, several at a time or a whole folder in one pass, and a file opened from another app imports too. In the Lightroom app, the same .xmp goes in through Presets, then Yours, then Import Presets in the Options menu.

  2. RAW and ProRAW with a live preset

    With a look active and RAW on, xMosaique saves exactly two files: the 48 MP ProRAW DNG holding untouched sensor data, and the photo with the preset applied. Turn the look off and you get the DNG alone. The DNG is never touched — the preset is applied to the second file, so the negative stays a negative.

  3. Film grain and halation

    Film grain is the texture of film itself, made by the clumped silver crystals in the emulsion. Halation is the red-orange glow film gets around bright lights, where light scatters back off the base behind the emulsion. In xMosaique, grain is one of four film-stock structures sized to the frame, and halation appears only past a brightness threshold you set.
